SEC Addresses Two Key Recommendations Related to Diversity and Inclusion Matters
Several years ago, SEC established the subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion within the SEC’s Asset Management Advisory Committee regarding asset management industry priorities. Responding to the lack of gender and racial diversity within the asset management industry, SEC established the subcommittee to vet industry concerns and create a set of recommendations to create additional transparency and to increase access to traditionally under represented firms. Many industry leaders, including AAAIM’s Co-Chair Brenda Chia, testified on the issues of increasing visibility related to diversity hires and increased fund allocations for diverse managers.
