Women’s History Month and Lessons for a Better Future
Indira Gandhi once said, “You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.” These words resonate now more than ever as we navigate a world where too many seem intent on making points rather than making progress. Conflict and division often take center stage, leaving little room for meaningful dialogue and mutual progress.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I find myself reflecting on this quote and its relevance in today’s civic landscape. Wouldn’t it be refreshing if Indira Gandhi’s approach guided our discussions more often? I personally hope for a world where leadership is defined by unity rather than confrontation, where more people embrace the wisdom and grace of Ms. Gandhi.
