AAAIM Partners With Ascend For 10×25 Initiative To Increase AAPI Board Members

AAAIM Joins ASCEND to Increase AAPI Board Representation in Fortune 1000 Companies

Over the past year, AAAIM has actively supported groundbreaking initiatives by NASDAQ, State Street, Palladium Equity Partners and other firms to require minimum racial and gender diversity on the boards of companies they do business with. For the AAPI community, we continue to be underrepresented in the boardrooms and senior management positions in Fortune 1000 companies.  While representing 6 percent of US populations, AAPIs represent more than 12 percent of the professional workforce in America. However only 4.4 percent of directors of Fortune 1000 companies were AAPI and 71.6 percent of Fortune 1000 companies do not have a single AAPI member on their board. AAAIM and other AAPI organizations have advocated for having the board composition and senior management better reflect the diversity of the company’s workforce.
