Position Summary

The CalSTRS Investments Branch is seeking an experienced individual to work as an Investment Officer I in the Risk Mitigating Strategies Unit.

The Risk Mitigating Strategies (RMS) asset class was established in 2016, with an objective to invest in strategies that provide further diversification of CalSTRS overall investment portfolio, especially during equity market downturns. RMS includes long duration U.S. Treasuries, Trend Following, Global Macro, Systematic Risk Premia, and other strategies to be identified in the future.

Under the direction of the Portfolio Manager, the Investment Officer I assists in the evaluation of new and existing investment strategies and managers, portfolio risk management, performance attribution, production of various reports, and operational support. This position is responsible for performing complex duties requiring a high degree of independence, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and discretionary judgment.
