New President to Lead Continued Path to Growth

San Francisco (February 2017) – The Association of Asian American Investment Managers (AAAIM), an alliance of prominent, successful Asian American leaders in the field of investment management, is pleased to appoint Grace Reyes its new President. AAAIM is the only organization for emerging managers dedicated to Asian American investment professionals and the Asian American investment community at large. In addition to providing support for Asian Americans in the United States and connecting members with prominent leaders, AAAIM also serves as a conduit between Asian American investment managers and Asia-based institutional investors.

Ms. Reyes reports to the AAAIM Board of Directors and will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational planning and execution for AAAIM.  With over 10 years’ work experience, Ms. Reyes was most recently in the corporate and business development team at tech firm reporting to the Executive suite.   As the first hire of the team, she built global relationships with influential industry leaders and opportunities with some of the top internet firms for the company.  Prior to that, Ms. Reyes established and honed relationships with prominent investors when she spearheaded the investor relations and fundraising efforts at a private equity firm where she also reported to the Executive suite.  Ms. Reyes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Computer Specialization from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

“The Board of Directors is excited to have Grace onboard and is confident in her initiative, creativity and exceptional networking capabilities,” said Clayton Jue, President of Leading Edge Investment Advisors, a founding Board member and current Chair of AAAIM.  “Representing over 1600 investment professionals and some $100 Billion in Assets Under Management, AAAIM is only expected to grow under Grace’s tenure and provide valuable opportunities to our members, sponsors, trustees and partners.”

“I am profoundly honored for the trust that has been placed in me to lead such an incredible organization backed by a highly-esteemed Board and prestigious network of investment professionals. This is the role of a lifetime for me because my passions and values are 100% aligned with AAAIM’s mission to connect, empower and mobilize a network of professionals that collectively want one another to succeed,” said Grace Reyes. “Over my career, I’ve discovered that my purpose is to create meaningful opportunities through making fruitful introductions, connecting people and maintaining a fertile network.  As such, this opportunity is more so exciting because of the potential synergy between the AAAIM organization and the professional network I have built over time.”
